A Positive Reason why your Man or Woman may Cheat on you!

After reading a comment on an article about relationships that fall off the deep end due to a break in commitment, and reading the implied message that what your partner does (negatively) says a lot about you, disappointment consumed me. Soon after, my emotions began erupting until I became livid— thinking of all the women or men who may now blame the image in the mirror for why their Luvs betrayed their trust.

As for the comment in itself, I certainly agree with the theory that who you are with says all about you. However, this theory shouldn’t be tagged to a negative connotation, simply because a negative situation arises. In other words, if your Luv is a two-timing cheat, this doesn’t mean that you are less of a man or woman because you love them.

It doesn’t mean that you have less than deserving standards, that you are blind when it comes to matters of the heart, that you are naive, or stupid. In fact, it may mean that you are the prize that your partner knew he or she didn’t truly deserve. So pat yourself on the back. Your partner cheating on you, just may mean that you are the $h@t!

Fact: In many cases, people hook up with who they desire to be with, who they need people to see themselves constantly standing beside, all the while knowing that they honestly don’t match up. This isn’t the only reason why people cheat in relationships. However, it’s a common one. We tend to think that people always cheat on a partner because they aren’t satisfied with what the partner is giving them.

I wish we would begin to think that maybe, just maybe, people cheat because they aren’t satisfied with themselves. Perhaps, the first instinct that they had when they first saw you was that you were totally out of their league, and so they couldn’t fathom the possibility that you would even consider having a relationship with them if you didn’t meet ‘the someone that they thought you deserved to be with.’ And so, they showed you their representative, or mask, when they said hello, and you looked straight at their falsehood and smiled.

From there, what happens is what usually happens. In relationships, people get comfortable. But who can get comfortable wearing a mask? So of course, the false image begins to irritate the people wearing it to the point that they feel forced to seek out relief, or rather that someone who they can be real with————–the one that has lower expectations, the one that would accept loving a cheater, the one that will help them hide the mask they wear under dirty bed sheets and funky pillow cases.

To conclude, if a cheater is with you, maybe that says great things about you and poor things about him/her. Perhaps, the cheater chooses to creep and not leave because he or she can’t envision letting you go, since you are the prize that he or she isn’t worthy to have. Therefore, if your man or woman has cheated on you, don’t beat yourself up. In fact, run in front of the biggest mirror and smile knowing you must be something special.
