From Beauty to Becky – The Tiki Barber Story

I am sure by now you have read the headlines Tiki Barber has left his Asian American wife Ginny for a 23 year old Blond college student.  Tiki and Ginny were married for 11 years, and have two children together with two currently in the oven.  Apparently the mistress Traci Johnson was an intern at NBC which is how her and Barber met since he started working for the Network once he retired.  I am not going to rehash too much of this story since there are plenty of articles about it, but I will just post some of the key points before I move on.

• Tiki looks like a big hypocrite here, his parents split up and he had this to say about it in 2004:  ”I don’t give a [bleep] that the relationship didn’t work,” he said of his parents’ split in a 2004 Post interview. “Not only did he abandon her, I felt like he abandoned us for a lot of our lives. I have a hard time forgiving that.”
• Barber did a documentary in Senegal for the Travel Channel while his wife was three months pregnant, and he took the mistress with him while his wife stayed behind.
• He wrote a book in 2007 where he described the example he wanted to set for his kids, “I want to be an honorable man, because that’s what I want them both to be,” he wrote, noting, “My family is everything to me.”
• Apparently more than one person saw Tiki visiting Traci in her dorm room, where he apparently “went there” a few times in a college dorm room on a twin bed.
• Tiki courted the mistress for two years sending her expensive gifts, and eating lunch with her at the NBC headquarters in front of everyone.
• The mistress also babysat their children on several occasions when the couple would go out together.
• Tiki spoke and at lunch with students and faculty at Johnson’s college where her boyfriend also attended the event.

Tiki was foul on so many levels here it is amazing when you sit back and take it all in.  Why would Tiki feel the need to spend the night in her dorm room on a small ass bed, would a hotel room not be a bit more appropriate here?  What is with the allowing his mistress to baby sit the children idea, he was just playing with fire there.  I could go on and on about this and point out all the odd pieces of this puzzle.  The focus of this article is on another aspect of the fallout that will ensue from this situation.

SURPRISE—SURPRISE–ANOTHER BLACK MAN LIKING A WHITE WOMAN. CAN YOU BELIEVE THAT???????”

Now this invokes a thought because there are probably thousands of black women who would agree with this comment.  If Tiki has not felt the wrath of a black woman, he is about to get it now.  What is unique about this situation is he may get some heat from Asian women as well.  Why do you ask?  A woman of color whether it be Asian, Latin, or Black all take major offense to a man of color leaving them for a white woman.

The fact remains Tiki went from his beautiful wife to the Becky next door, and I am sure this new relationship will not last for 16 years like the one with his wife.  So he will probably come full circle and end up with a black woman at some point.  Now black women are going to be unable claim they are the only victims of being wronged by black men, look at it Tiger and Tiki both cheated on their supposed trophy wives.  Both of them supposedly have such a fetish for these women that they will not date a black woman.  We all know that once the decision is made by a black man to go for the fair skinned woman, they are literally black balled by most black women.
