An accountant is cooperating with the authorities to catch his company money laundering, he is wired and panics at the last minute.  He throws the wire away in the trash can and sees the ledger his company is using to launder the money.  He reports back to the F.B.I and they decide to make a federal case out of it, they have Mary and Marshall fly to Denver, Colorado in order to protect him before it goes to trial.

Earl Donaldson is reluctant to go into the WITSEC program because he would have to give up everything in his life, he gets upset with the head FBI agent because he told him if he got the evidence he would be finished after the trial.  The lead FBI agent and Mary start to spar over the details of how WITSEC works, and Mary attempts to straighten him out.

Earl decides he needs time to think about going into the program, in the meantime Stan receivers some news about one of Marshall’s witnesses.  An ex-boxer who has went a bit insane and started boxing in a boxing gym with people he did not even know, Stan pulls him out of the ring as he may blow his cover.  It seems that he may have some form of Alzheimers or memory loss of some sort.

Agent Faber tries to convince Mary and Marshall that they need to get Earl to testify no matter what the cost.  They disagree and tell him he needs to admit he mislead Earl in order to make his case, then we pan to Earl who tells them he will testify but will not join WITSEC.  Mary and Marshall are putting the responsibility on the lead FBI agent to resolve the problem and ensure Earl’s safety and get him to join WITSEC.

Faber comes to Mary and Marshall to ask them to help Earl and make sure he is safe after he testifies, Mary and Marshall agree.  Mary reveals to Marshall that her and Raph broke up, and she is a bit taken back that Marshall does not have anything to say and calls him verbally impotent.

Stan finds out that the ex-boxer who is in WITSEC has a brain disorder that is incurable; he does not want to tell him that he has a life threatening condition.  Stand struggles to tell Rick (the ex-boxer) that he has episodes where he loses his memory, and he needs to be in a home where he can be cared for.

We find out that Earl was kidnapped by men posing as FBI agents Faber, Mary, and Marshall get there too late.  Earl is tied up and gagged as it seems the people he was going to testify against have found him out.  They had a bug in Earl’s house, and found out when he decided to tell his wife.  Earl’s wife goes ballistic on Agent Faber for him using Earl to make his case, and she makes him take a deep look at himself.

Mary realizes that Earl stole the ledger and the criminals are looking for it, which is why they kidnapped him.  They are torturing earl and have his foot in a vice grip and burning cigars on the bottom of his feet demanding the location of the ledger.

Ricky goes back to the gym against Stan’s orders, Stan attempts to get him to leave, but he picks a fight with another boxer and takes a punch to the head.  Stan did not tell him that he has a Subdural Hematoma and anymore hits to the head could possibly kill him.  He falls to the ground and collapses; they call an ambulance to help him.  Ricky turns out to be fine, and they find an assisted living facility for him, but he does not remember Stan as the Alzheimer’s slowly takes over.

Agent Faber discovers that Earl has a safety deposit box and they go to the bank in order to intercept the ledger, and they run into Earl and the criminals coming out of the bank.  A gunfight ensues, Mary and Agent Faber take down the goons and they retrieve the ledger safely with no one being hurt in the process.  Earl agrees to enter the witness protection program and testify.  When they are about to leave Agent Faber asks Mary out on a date as he will be in Albuquerque in a few weeks, Mary declines, but you can tell she is actually considering it.

Mary says she is okay about the break up situation with Raph, but you can clearly tell she is not.  The entire episode she wanted to stay busy and keep her mind off of her personal life, she is taking it harder than she is letting on.  It will be interesting to see if they actually keep Faber on the show and allow him and Mary to develop a rapport.  There was no mention of Mary’s sister this episode, so that can only mean that she won’t be in the next episode or so then will have several episodes dedicated to her secret situation in New Jersey.
