Jesse and Fiona have traveled to the Bahamas to identify the dead body that washed up on shore; they are trying to find out who the dead weapons runner is. Fiona meets a man named Ty who is the coroner’s assistant, who she is working in order to get acc3ess to the morgue. Jesse picks a fight with him while Fiona steals the keys from Ty, and they head to the morgue.
Jesse finds the files he is looking for and goes to exit the premises, he opens up one of the body holders and conceals himself inside then exits the morgue after Ty came in and found his keys. Next thing you know Jesse is being chased by the police after Ty recognizes him trying to slip out of the place, Fiona picks him up in a boat they have standing by and they take off down the river.
Jesse and Fiona arrive back at the home base where Michael is waiting; they give Michael the autopsy report to see if the body that was found was the arms dealer. As it stands right now it seems as if the body is in fact the person they were looking for, Sam finds out the information for Michael fairly quickly but wants him to do a favor for him in return. Sam wants Michael to help a couple that runs a charity who invested their money with a phony business, and the cops have offered no remedy or solution that can help them.
As they get to Josh and Lila’s house (the clients) they find Lila telling them that Josh went to confront the person that swindled their foundation. Michael and Sam head in that direction to stop Josh before he gets himself in trouble. Fiona and Jesse are at a shipping store to try and find out Jeremiah Casar’s address, the clerk is not budging, but in typical spy fashion they play on her weakness and get her to give up the address she has on file.
As Sam and Michael arrive at the financial company they find Josh inside with a gun pointing at the person that stole from him (Nick Madison). Somehow the cops are notified and they show up outside, Sam starts to close the blinds and lock everyone inside of the building because he feels Josh is a good man and he cannot let him get arrested. It appears we have a full fledged hostage situation on our hands now, as Sam starts to barricade the door even against Michael’s objections.
The Police are showing a strong sign of force as they have lots of cops and even an armored tank outside, the police call inside the building to establish contact with the hostages. Michael decides to answer the call, and acts like he is one of the hostages in order to throw the police off; it was
merely a stalling tactic to buy them some time.
Mike and Sam separately interview Nick and his wife, so that they can find out what happened to Josh’s money. Michael elects to go with the sympathizer method on Nick, while Sam goes hard at his wife Patty in order to get her to crack. Nothing comes from Nick or Patty, but a man named Norris is Nick’s right hand man, so Michael and Sam work to find a way to get in touch with Norris to see if he knows anything.
Michael gets in touch with Fiona as they are trying to break into Casar’s apartment; his nosey neighbor runs them off. Michael tells Fiona that she needs to find this Norris character, and briefs her on the rest of the situation. Fiona and Jesse head off to find Norris as the situation gets tense because Madison pulls a gun and discovers Michael is a part of the kidnapping team when he disarms him.
Norris runs from Jesse, but Fiona hits him with a car. They tell Norris that Nick sent them to collect the money, they take Norris to the scene of the kidnapping and he tells them that Nick has a floor safe with the stolen money in it. Fiona gets in touch with Michael and lets him know about the safe, and he tells her to pull out all the stops to find a way to get them out of there without the cops catching them.
Michael and Sam find a clever way to get into the safe, by taking it out of the floor with an explosion. Then they throw the safe off of the third floor and it cracks open revealing well over a million dollars in cash, Patty gets upset with Nick who slaps her and throws a crumbled piece of flooring at Michael. He misses and it goes crashing through the window outside, this puts the police in motion as they feel the situation inside is getting out of control. Fiona gives Michael an update of how much time they have before the police move in on the building.
Michael and Sam come up with a scheme to get Patty on their side, and get Nick to put a gun in his hand and fool the police into thinking he is the hostage taker. Sam talks to Patty about the situation, she initially seems on board, but decides that as much as she hates Nick she can’t let them get away with holding her hostage. Michael acts like he is going to shoot Nick, but he makes himself vulnerable to allow Nick to take the gun from him. The police break in as Nick takes Michaels gun and has it pointed at everyone else in the room, they immediately tase Nick and free everyone else.
The police interview Patty and instead of telling that Michael and Nick were the hostage takers, she rolled on Nick and said he was the one who initially pulled the gun. The police take Nick away, and Joshua now has his money back so that the foundation will not close, it was a clever calculation by Michael that Patty would side with them because of Nick lying to her about stealing the money in the first place. The police chief notice Michael has a mention of a background in explosives in his file, and he asks Michael how the safe was blown out of the floor. Michael says Nick must have done it because he forgot the combination, and explosives were probably his only option, the police chief looked puzzled but let Michael leave.
Michael and Jesse go back to Casar’s house while his nosey neighbor is out running, as they get inside they notice that the place is sparkling clean with freshly painted walls. They find nothing there, and they go ask the nosey neighbor who says she has not seen Casar in several days, as Michael is talking to the neighbor he notices pictures in the house and she is not in any of them. Michael leaves initially then Jesse and him start talking only to discover that she killed Casar and was staking out his place, they kick her door in and she starts shooting at them. She flees the scene as Jesse gives chase, Michael notices a whole she punched in the wall that had a tape in it. Jesse is unable to catch her, and Michael shows him the tape that she left behind which may hold some answers.
This was a great episode as usual, as it had enough action and story to keep things flowing. Michael and Sam got out of an impossible situation on basically a guess that Patty would hate Nick enough to side with their cause. We did not learn a lot about the main storyline except, Jeremiah Casar is the name of the gun runner whose body was found washed up on shore. We also discover who apparently killed him, but know nothing about her except she is hot and an assassin. We will see what comes out of all of this, but Burn Notice is heating up already.
