Ten Things Guys Waste Their Money On. Part I.

People in general waste their hard earned money on a lot of things these days. Men and women spend their money on different things most of the time, although at times those lines can cross. Men have a specific set of things that they waste way too much of their money on, and get hardly any positive return out of it. Are you sitting at home at the end of every month wondering how you blew your entire paycheck again? All you did was eat, sleep, and drink so there’s really no explanation for where all your money went. Here are five things guys waste their money on, remember if you can cut out even one of these you may have some money in your pocket at the end of the month.

Fast Food – The super sized meal deal may seem cheap, but in truth it is hugely expensive. Not just because it costs more than it would cost to make the same meal at home. It will also clog your arteries, raise your risk of heart attack, shorten your life expectancy, and cost you buckets of cash in medical bills (cholesterol meds aren’t cheap). Plus if you think about it the food does not really taste all that good, it is convenient more than anything.
Porn – There is so much free porn out there that there is absolutely no good reason to pay for it, yet, many men do. Are they paying for convenience? So they don’t have to search through the mountains of free images and videos to get the one with their favorite porn star, or the one that meets their fetish requirements? Convenience is nice, but it also isn’t cheap. The other part of this is at what point to you tire of watching pornography? When you were in high school and found that porn tape hidden in your uncle’s closet it was new to you then, but now your older and surely there is nothing new to be discovered there.
Alcohol – We all know we spend way too much money on liquor, and most people accept a certain amount of drinking in their budget. The financial issues it raises come into play because people tend to over drink, or worse try to impress/seduce women by buying them drinks. You only need to drink enough to get a little buzzed when you go out, there is no need to get hammered and then wake up with a hangover the next day. Also I do not know of any women who said that a guy buying them a drink made her decide to talk to him, most women just use men who do that and they end up leaving alone.
Gadgets – Do we really need all these electronics? Yes. Unfortunately, as guys, we need to have the latest and coolest gadgets with enough storage space to clutter up with things we don’t really use. Even though the previous model is now only 6 months old and costs about one quarter of what the new one does, we still spend the dough we really can’t afford to spend on the item we really don’t need to have. If we took the time to think about it, electronics are a horrible investment and having the latest and greatest does nothing but stroke your own ego. Trust me no one else gives a crap that you purchased a new 61” television, resist buying things when they first come out you will save a lot in the long run.
Phone Service – Whether it be cell phone or land line, 90% of us are paying too much. Want to test that theory? Call up your phone and ask to cancel service because it’s too expensive. Nine times out ten you will suddenly become “eligible” for some super new low rate program. Especially if it is your cell phone contract, at one point I received four months of cell phone service for free by threatening to cancel after my contract was up. In reality everyone does not need a data plan; the internet will still be there when you get home. Save the extra $30 a month and put it towards something more useful, few will heed this advice but at least it was given.
