Michael Westen is preparing to meet with Simon; he starts to mentally prepare himself for the event. Michael drives to the meeting location where Vaughn meets him outside, and Vaughn tells him that he is going to keep armed guards in the room when Michael talks to him. Michael declines and enters the room where Simon is chained to a chair, Michael tells Simon if he plays ball he may be able to get him out sooner and that he found his bible.
Simon manages to break out of the handcuffs and throws Michael out of the window, then he tells Michael there is something in a grave and that he should listen to the tape he finds in there. He tells Michael to find the grave, listen to the tape, and then come back to him and he will tell him what the bible is all about.
Michael asks the team to help him find the tape because Vaughn is watching him, Sam has to go help a friend in prison who he owes a favor too. Fiona volunteers to go help look for the grave and dig it up. Sams friend reveals to him that he got mixed up with the Colombians, and now with a week left in his sentence the Colombians are out to get him. He asks Sam to take care of his family if he does not make it out of prison alive.
Sam leaves the prison and is being tailed by some Colombian assassins, instead of evading he stops in front of a lawyer’s office and acts like he works there. They decide not to kill him because he is just a lawyer and they drive off, Sam goes back and asks the team if they will help him break into prison. Instead of Sam going in Michael volunteers to go, and he has his FBI agent friends take him to the prison.
Westen gets them to place him in the same cell as Sam’s friend, and they place a phone in the cell just in case he gets into trouble. Westen is now in prison, and trying to figure out what the lay of the land is. Michael makes contact with Juan, and they start to talk about what is going on. Michael reveals to Juan he is Sam’s friend, initially Juan is resistant but eventually goes along with Michael’s plan. When they are on the yard Cruz see Michael and Juan together, and he calls Michael over to tell him that he runs the prison and if he comes by their cell Michael is to clear out. Westen acts like he is afraid of Cruz and will comply with his wishes.
Fiona and Sam dig up the grave and find that if they open it then it will explode, so they have to come back later. In the meantime Michael and Juan sense that Cruz is about to make a move, and they head to the library where Michael makes some lightweight armor out of hard cover books. They head back to the cell because it is a more defensible position, Cruz shows up to take out Juan and a fight ensues. Michael forces them to come into the cell one at a time and he fights them off until the other guards show up to break up the fight. Cruz tells Michael that he is going to come after them again soon, a nd now both he and Juan better watch their back.
Michael and Juan notice that Cruz plans on starting a riot at which time he will take out Juan, Michael realizes he cannot just watch his back and keep him safe. He uses the emergency cell phone and he calls Sam and Fiona to tell them that him and Juan are going to break out of prison. They find a crooked prison guard named Hill who is being leaned on by Cruz, so they tell him they will help him with his Cruz problem if he helps Michael and Juan escape.
Fiona sneaks into jail and gives Michael a lock pick by kissing him so the guards did not see it, and she tells him the plan that Sam and Jesse have devised for them to escape from the prison. Michael goes back and briefs Juan on how the plan is going to go, and they start to prepare for it until they are interrupted by two prison guards who take them from their cell.
Fiona and Madeline go back to diffuse the bomb at the grave site, Fiona successfully breaking into the grave. In the meantime the caretaker for the cemetery starts coming over that way, and Madeline runs interference while Fiona puts the items they retrieved from the grave in the back of the truck. They get away with the box of information that Simon told Michael about and head back.
The guards take Michael and Juan to Cruz’s cell block where they see the cameras are covered up and they are taken to a closed off yard where Cruz and his gang are waiting. A fight breaks out Michael dispatches with Cruz’s henchmen, and then knocks Cruz out, but not before Cruz breaks Juan’s leg. They try to make it to the infirmary, but Juan can’t make it with his injuries. Michael places him in a laundry basket and covers him up with sheets; he calls Sam and changes the plan by telling them Cruz will be the one leaving the prison.
Michael head to the infirmary and booby traps it, and they get the prison guard Hill to get the information to Cruz about Michael Whereabouts.
Cruz comes in and falls right into Michaels trap, the room explodes and immobilizes Cruz and his men. Sam and Jesse show up dressed as prison guards and they take Cruz form the prison and drop him in a warehouse with a gun next to him. Cruz wakes up grabs the gun and attempts to leave the building they dumped him in only to have the police waiting to take him in. Juan gets out and is reunited with his family.
Sam, Michael, and Fiona are back at Michaels place as they open Simon’s treasure box. Michael grabs the tape Berlin 2007 that Simon asked him to listen to, and contained on the tape is a conversation between Vaughn and Simon. On the tape Vaughn tells Simon that he is being replaced by a man named Westen, now it all makes sense Vaughn was one of the people responsible for burning Michael.
Michael goes back and visits with Simon again, and tells Simon that he heard the tape. Simon then tells him that they are just pawns to Vaughn, and he refuses to tell Michael what the secret code in the bible says. But he does tell him that the man looking for the bible is named John Barrett, and that he is the CEO of Drake technologies one of the most powerful corporations in the world. Simon tells Michael that if he gives Barrett the bible then it would contain everything that is needed to take down Vaughn, and it would give Michael his life back. Michael tells him he will think about it, and then he tells Vaughn that John Barrett is after the bible. Vaughn has absolutely no clue that Michael knows that he is the one who burned him, Westen is playing it cool right now, but I am sure he has something planned for Vaughn.
